On Wednesday, June 13, Nashville-based Medalogix announced the general release of Medalogix Care, a new utilization management solution developed to put big data at the service of home health clinicians. The new solution leverages predictive analytics and optimization technology to provide guidance on the design of patient kcare plans, based on historical analysis of millions of patient records, care plans and outcomes.

We spoke with Medalogix president and CEO Elliott Wood and Chief Clinical Officer Cyndi Rizzitello to understand the origin and purpose of the new system. “Our customers were seeing the confluence of several CMS regulations,” Wood told us. “Shrinking payment rates, the new payment system arriving in 2020, and the insistence that care plans grow out of OASIS assessments.”

Do any of these things happen to you?

A new division within Uber has been created to address all of these problems, as well as others experienced by patients of physicians and residents of assisted living facilities. Uber Health is partnering with hospitals, physicians, cancer centers, and post-acute care providers across the country to eliminate transportation as a reason for missed appointments.  (more…)
